Description
Bassett Avenue is set in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Southampton's city centre. We have nine apartments in this block and an allocated car park to the front and rear of the building
There is a lift and stairs to access all the apartments and there are three apartments on each floor. As you enter the apartment there is a long hallway - the first room you come to is the family bathroom which has a shower over the bath, a heated towel rail and a wash basin. Towels and free complimentary toiletries are supplied on arrival.
In the hallway on the left there is a storage cupboard which contains an ironing board, clothes horse and a hoover. To the right is the guest bedroom which has a double bed, a double wardrobe and a bedside table with a night light.
Further down the hallway you arrive at the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. This area is light and spacious with patio doors leading out on to a balcony which has outside seating for two guests. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and works well when you have a family as you are not governed by hotel timetables and can cater for children on their timetable instead. A washer/dryer is in the property to meet all your laundry needs so gone are the days of having to return home to lots of washing.
The Master bedroom is located just off the lounge and has a king size bed, double wardrobes, a chest of drawers and two bed side tables both with lamps and an alarm clock. There is a en-suite with a shower, heated tower rail and a wash basin.
Allocated parking for one car is supplied in the car park and free broadband is available unlike hotels where you have to buy internet packages.
Area
Located on England's south coast, Southampton has been a major port since the 13th Century and was home to the RMS Titanic. The Maritime Museum in the Wool House features an exhibition on the ill-fated liner.
The main station in the city is Southampton Central with excellent links to London and other south coast towns and cities. Southampton Airport is located in the town of Eastleigh, just north of Southampton. It is connected to the city by a frequent rail service, and hosts flights to UK and some European destinations.
Southampton harbour is no longer used for car ferries to Europe, but remains the embarkation point for many cruise liners. Sailing is very popular, and Southampton Water has been the start and finish of the Round the World Yacht Race for 30 years.
The main retail facility is the West Quay Shopping Centre, which was the biggest city-centre shopping mall in Europe when it was opened.
The largest green space is Southampton Common which covers a larger area than Hyde Park in London and includes a Wildlife Centre, a swimming pool and several lakes and ponds.
