Come and join the self-guided dinosaur footprints trail at River Hamble Country Park.

The trail pack is available from the Barnfield kiosk for just £2, with a prize when you complete it.

British Street Food Festival and Competition, Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth

The toughest street food competition in the world is coming to Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays. The southern heat of the 2018 British Street Food Awards will see the region’s best traders fighting it out to win the public vote for a place in the national finals in London. And the chance to represent Britain in the European Street Food Awards finals in Berlin.

 

 

 

Gunwharf Quays’ Plaza will welcome over a dozen innovative street food vendors, giving visitors the opportunity to sample some of the finest street food on offer in the region. Shoppers will have the opportunity to give their feedback on the tastiest dishes, sampling competition dishes and voting for their favourite.

It’s all taking place on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 26/28 from 11am to 6pm each day with fun for all the family.

Calling all spies and soldiers!!!

Test your mettle as a secret agent by heading off across the Beaulieu grounds on your own SOE training mission this May half-term.

The Special Operations Executive are running a training exercise before sending their trainee agents into enemy-occupied France – and they’ve recruited you to join them!

Track down hidden car parts, find all the Citroen 2CV parts and note down the cryptic symbol on each one. Then head back to the mission briefing room to match them back to the secret blueprints. Make a code breaking gadget…Can you crack the code? Create your own gadget and decipher the cryptic symbols to find out!

Throughout the week, dress up as a soldier, see a selection of wartime vehicles being driven around the attraction and talk to Lord Montagu’s falconer about the role of falconry in World War II. Plus, solve a puzzle to win prizes! Put your code cracking skills to the test in the Brabazon Restaurant to solve a fiendish puzzle and be entered into a prize draw. Each day’s winner will receive a fun spy or soldier pack.

Then head to the Secret Army Exhibition to discover the true story of Beaulieu’s role as a wartime finishing school for special agents.

Kayaking and Paddleboarding, Fairthorne Manor, Botley

Every Thursday evening 6pm – 7.30pm there is a taste for Kayaking + Stand Up Paddleboarding. These fun sessions are a great opportunity for the whole family to try and great way too cool off on a hot summers evening.
